Since Johanna Spyri in 1880 your history "Heidi's years of apprenticeship and travel“ around the town of Maienfeld, the region is inextricably linked to the story of the little girl from the mountains. The Heidi Foundation has set itself the goal of making the unique cultural assets of Heidi's history visible and tangible at an authentic site. Withdifferent projects will children thenatural home of Heidi with people and animals, traditions and customs brought close. In Heidi's world, children experience a break from our often hectic, technological and overstimulated times and immerse themselves in simple life in the mountains. You learn in a playful and fun way friendship and community, closeness to nature and traditions. Johanna Spyri created an inestimable value with her work Swiss literary and cultural history. In 2023, the Executive Board of UNESCO made Johanna Spyri's work significant «Memory of the World»-Registered as part of the World Documentary Cultural Heritage.
